Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt

Oh, the winding down of summer. Lately we've been noticing ' Sparty Fair clouds' which tells us that the warmth and sun are going to be slowly dissipating , and that the cold harsh Corry winter will rear its ugly head.

With that said we are really trying to hold on of what little summer we have had this year since we spent most of it in the hospital with Maggie.

We had tons of fun making Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt. I really don't think you can come any closer to the taste of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough mixed with yogurt than this recipe. Mind you we obtained the recipe from my small addiction called Pinterest.

So in Reed family fashion we got to work and we loved every moment making it.

The recipe calls for :

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt
1 c all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c ( 1 stick ) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 c packed dark brown sugar
1/4 c granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 c chocolate chips or chunks
1 c vanilla yogurt
In a mixing bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter and both sugars together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat until combined. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients ( flour, soda and salt ). Add the chocolate chips or chunks and stir. Add the flour and chocolate mixture to butter mixture and fold in gently. Add yogurt and stir again. Place in a container and cover with lid. Freeze until set, preferably overnight.
we got this recipe from  this link .
What w also did was substituted the regular yogurt with Greek Yogurt and it tasted just as good too.

As you'll see with the pictures the girls had tons of fun making this recipe and they were looking forward to seeing how it tasted when it was all finished.

As you can see with Marilyn's full mouth she enjoyed the yummy taste of the frozen yogurt. Everyone enjoyed it and actually when its all gone, they beg mom to make more. To be honest I think I could eat this every day too.

So if you want to have a tasty treat , give this a try. The trick to this frozen yogurt recipe is to let it freeze overnight. If you don't then you really taste the tang of the yogurt in the recipe and it doesn't taste as well. If you let it freeze overnight what you get is something that really tastes like cookie dough.

We may just substitute our vanilla chips we have and see how it tastes and have a vanilla chip cookie dough frozen yogurt another time.
